BIOGRAPHY

September grew up on a ranch near Carson City, NV, riding horses and skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains. While attaining her Bachelors of Architecture, September spent six months studying watercolor painting and architecture in Denmark.  In 1992 she was awarded the Rosenberg Traveling Scholarship, which allowed her to travel to Scotland to study and paint the buildings of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. September moved to Jackson, Wyoming in 1993, where she continued to paint while working in an architecture firm. During that time her artwork was shown in numerous one person and group exhibitions in the Jackson area.  September now devotes all of her time to painting.

September has shown in national shows such as the ‘Birds in Art’ 2003, ‘ American Watercolor Society’ 2005 , ‘The National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Miniature and More Show’ 2004 & 05. She also shows locally in shows such as ‘The Governor’s Capitol Exhibit’ 05 where she was awarded a purchase award and the Wyoming Watercolor Society where she was recently awarded signature status. She currently shows at her own gallery ‘Trio Fine Art’ in Ja ckson, Wyoming and at the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah. Her understanding of structure, composition and light, so crucial in architecture, are evident in her watercolors.

September's respect for nature radiates through her paintings.  Her subjects are honest and untamed, challenging the viewer to appreciate nature on its own terms.  She still lives in Jackson, where the Teton wilderness provides daily inspiration for her paintings.
